Hi everyone, welcome back and hello if you're new. This month myself (Suzie) and Hannah managed to sneak in a four day trip to capital... London! Then in the true OTBT fashion we found ourselves OTBT at Kings Cross!
The weather was glorious for September so we decided to have a wonder by Regents Canal which is located just behind Kings Cross station! Who'd of thought? It's a beautiful, calm and scenic place!
Here we go, getting back at you with those facts and figures! Well, according to "Google" Regents Canal was formed in 1812 and is a canal that stretches across an area of North London. The canal offers an oasis of calm in the capital... and it didn't disappoint.
As we continued down the path we came upon Gasholder Park, a unique green park built inside a cast iron frame, which once contained 1.1million cubic feet of gas which was part of Pancras Gasworks until 2000. A beautiful area for anyone to sit, chill and watch the boats go by. Nearby is Canal Reach, a new development of offices, apartments, leisure and much more.
We encountered walkers, cyclists, boaters and everyone that was looking to escape the busy city streets.
As we strolled along the toll path we came across the new Kings Cross shopping development, Coal Drops Yard having it's finishing touches added. It's due to open on 26th October 2018 with shops, cafe's, bars and restaurants. To find out more check out @coaldropsyard on Instagram.
This was just the afternoon we wanted to recharge and rekindle some energy ready for more fun and frolics in London!
If you find yourself on a city break or in a bustling place you'll be surprised how easy it is to get Off The Beaten Track. If you're in the capital give it a go!
