Hi everyone, Happy Halloween!! There has been spooky goings-on in the OTBT fam!
Dressing up, carving pumpkins and trick or treating as it's Halloween! After the pumpkins are lit, the little ones love to get dressed up and sit around in a circle and tell spooky stories, not forgetting to make a jump scare ending!
We like to get several pumpkins and let everyone young and old have a go at creating a scary pumpkin, after scraping out the pumpkin pulp to put aside to make a spicy pumpkin soup, delicious!
Dressing up is a big fun part of celebrating Halloween and here at OTBT we love it! Witches, monsters, ghosts, skeletons and zombies, little Ben who is only four years old, says everything is a zombie so we definitely won't forget those!
A great simple game we play is trick or treat pot luck! Lots of small pieces of paper are cut into squares and half have treat written on them, half have trick! If you pick out treat, you get a treat out of our delicious sweets box (cupcakes from the buffet are also included). If you pick trick...dum, dum, dum... you have do do something daring from the trick box! This box is filled with different things including put an ice cube down your pants or something silly like do the 'can can' dance whilst making a peacock noise! Every time a trick is completed, the partaker gets a sweet from the cauldron, so everyone wins! (Apart from the person doing the can can and making a peacock noise! Lol)
Then of course we finish with a spooky disco! Freaking out (our version of dancing) to thriller, ghostbusters and many more with our spooky CD's on the boom box! (Aren't we cool!) Showing off our awesome moves to the rest of the family!
The kids (and adults) love it and at the end of the night, they climb into their beds, tired, full and... SCARED!!!
