Free (or nearly free) Things To Do As A Family
Park Day
Have each family member make a backpack up containing a packed lunch, bottled water, pens and paper and our free, printable treasure hunt pdf.
Head for the local park and let the younger children play, run around and play ball before lunch.
After lunch, get the children to do the treasure hunt, afterwards chill out in the sun, the adults can read and the younger ones can do colouring books, comics, etc.
Just before heading home, treat everyone to an iced treat, ice cream or lolly, however, if this is not within your budget, make sure to take a small treat or sweet with you.
Beach Day
Have each family member make a backpack up containing a packed lunch, bottled water and our free, printable treasure hunt checklist. Don't forget the buckets and spades!
Some activities you can do at the beach:
Collect a few shells to take home to create a shell picture.
Have a competition to see who can build the best sand castle (adults included).
Beach olympics! (Yes we've done this!) (Adults included)
Dam building.
Paddling.

Museum/Learning Day
Most towns and cities have free museums or libraries, and most put on activities for children during the school holidays. Search your local area and look online for vouchers e.g. two for the price of one, free exhibitions and events. Who knows what you might discover?
Hiking Day
Explore woodland, fields, forests and be surrounded by nature. Take a steady walk or sprint it out, there will be lots of adventures, right on your doorstep, it doesn't where you are in the world. You can print off our checklist for the younger children to find en-route and always finish with a treat. Check out the checklist here.
